AWANA at FBCLO
First Baptist Church of Lake Orion has used the AWANA program as a children's ministry since October 1976. Our current AWANA Club has separate age-appropriate programs for pre-school to 6th grade and is offered during the school year (September through May) on Wednesday nights from 6:30 pm to 8:15 pm.
The AWANA Club at FBCLO has two goals.
1. An outreach ministry, reaching children with the Gospel of Christ.
2. To train children to serve God.
Where did AWANA come from?
AWANA: Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed
AWANA is an acrostic taken from the Bible verse found in 2 Tim 2:15.
Our Club
A typical Club night is divided into three major sections:
1. Handbook Time - a time spent studying, memorizing, and reciting Bible verses and Biblical truth.
2. Council Time - a time used for singing then listening to a message that is geared to the age group.
3. Game Time - a time to exercise and enjoy team games and sports.
We also have many special nights and activities throughout the year, including:
1. AWANA Fair
2. FBCLO Grand Prix
3. AWANA Fun Night
4. AWANA Award's Night
